1. Jesus visits his hometown
The people in his hometown were amazed at Jesus’ teaching in the synagogue
How did a Jesus present himself while he was growing up?
Jesus was unable to perform many miracles in due to the unbelief
This applies to us too – sometimes we have great faith, other times our faith is lacking
Never stop believing who Jesus is, and what He can do for you.
2. Jesus sends out his disciples on a mission
Hospitality was important part of the culture
The disciples:
- Preached
- Cast out demons
- Anointed with oil
The three ministries we have seen Jesus doing throughout Mark
Why did Jesus send them out?
He was preparing them to continue on His mission.
Jesus wants you to be part of his Mission too.

Herod liked John and wanted to protect him. Herodias hated John, and set a trap to kill John
