Jesus’ crucifixion

Jesus’ crucifixion

Mark 15:22-47

The soldiers gambled for His clothes, as was prophesied.
Two criminals were crucified with Jesus – one on His right and one on this left
The crowds mocked Him.
The religious leaders mocked Him.
The criminals crucified with Him mocked him.
Jesus cries out, and died.
The veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom- like a sheet of paper that has been dealt with and is no longer needed.
Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for Jesus’ body

Lessons for us this week:
1.  The Pharisees said “Jesus saved others, He cannot save Himself”.  If Jesus saved Himself, he couldn’t save us. Jesus sacrificed His liver for us.
2. The Centurion’s observations about Jesus led him to believe in Jesus. We can observe who God is, and who Jesus is by reading the Bible. The more we study the Bible, the better we know Jesus.
3. Joseph of Arimathea gained courage and boldness through Jesus’ death on the cross. How has Jesus’ sacrifice changed you?
