Paul embarked on his second missionary journey and went to Derbe and Lydtra.
He met Timothy, who was part Jewish and part Greek, and well spoken of.
Paul took Timothy on he’s team, and circumcised him. They travelled to the churches in the region and delivered the decrees from the Church at Jerusalem
The Holy Sprit forbade them from going to Asia. Then they were forbidden to go to Bithinia.
Then Paul had a vision of a man from Macedonia, asking him to come to Macedonia.
At this point Luke joined the team.
They arrived at Philippi and went to the place of prayer, as there was probably no synagogue in that city.
Paul ministered to Lydia, who received Jesus and she and her household were baptised.
Paul and his team meet a possessed slave girl, who made a lot of money by fortune telling. She followed Paul and his team, calling out that that they were proclaiming way of salvation from God.
This greatly annoyed Paul , and he commanded the spirit to come out.
Application
1. Be open to the guiding of the Spirit in your life. Don’t resist or argue.
2. Paul was flexible- he ministered regardless of the circumstances, and many people were saved. Let God have His way in your life.
