The beast rises out of the sea. Similar to Daniel 7.
The antichrist will emerge as a world leader who will be worshipped and have great power.
Another beast – the false prophet. Had horns like a lamb.
He appears holy, but will speak evil things.
A false religious leader who will have world power
He will perform miracles and deceive the world
He will force everyone to worship the image of the beast
Mark of the beast
Chapter 14
144 thousand, who had not been submitted to the beast.
6 angels + 1
1st angel – preaches the gospel to the world. The Great Tribulation is to give people one last chance to come to God
Angel 2 – declares Babylon’s destruction
Angel 3 – declares judgment against anyone who has accepted the mark of the beast
Angel 4 – held a sickle
Angel 5 – told Angel 4 to start reaping
Angel 6 – another Angel with a sickle
Trampling of Gods wrath
Bowel judgements
- A foul and loathsome sore came upon those who had the Mark of the beast
- The sea became blood, and all the sea creatures died
- The rivers became blood
- The sun burnt people
- The beast’s kingdom shrouded in darkness
- The Euphrates river was dried up and the kings of the east gathered in the valley of Armageddon
- Huge earthquake and great hail
Application :
- God is righteous, and judges righteously
- In the presence of the Lord you forget your troubles. The Tribulation Saints who suffered terribly were worshiping in Heaven, not complaining.
- As God poured out judgment on the earth, God was alone in the temple. It was not a joyous time for God. Let God break your heart for the lost. Pray that He uses your life to reach people for God.
