Cornelius had been anticipating Peter’s arrival for three days.
Peter realises that during his vision God was preparing him for this very meeting, and that Jesus’ salvation breaks through the old laws and traditions of Jewish separation from the Gentiles.
Cornelius had been faithfully praying for a long time without anything dramatic happening. But God had been listening to his prayers, and today was the day that He planned to answer them.
God always hears your prayers – Never give up praying.
God also took attention of Cornelius’s giving to the poor.
As followers of God, we are supposed to do good to others – especially other Christians.
As Peter is speaking he is forming the understanding that God accepts anyone who believes in Him.
Peter tells Cornelius about Jesus’ ministry, death and resurrection. This is the super important message that the angel told Cornelius he had to hear from Peter, and the super important message that everyone needs to hear.
Jesus came to save the world by offering forgiveness for our sins. All we have to do is believe and accept.
But, If we don’t accept the forgiveness that Jesus offers, we are condemned to judgement.
Are you going to accept Jesus now, when He bring s you forgiveness and declares you innocent? Or are you going to reject Jesus now, and be judged by Him for everything you’ve ever done wrong?
Suddenly the Holy Spirit fills Cornelius and his family.
Peter commands Cornelius and his family to be baptised. Baptism is an important milestone in our walk with Jesus.
He commanded us to be baptized, and it is a public declaration that you have died to your old life, and now live for Jesus.
Be open to how God wants to use you. It might be very different to what you expect, but don’t limit God.
