Acts 4:1-22
The Sadducees were the Jewish political leaders, and didn’t want any changes to their world view or political structure.
Instead of marvelling at the miracle and trying to find out more, they want to squash the Apostle’s witnessing
Peter and John were put into prison overnight
The next day, the entire ruling council gathered to investigate.
Peter again uses this opportunity to witness for Jesus, accusing them of killing Jesus and declaring that God raised Him from the dead.
After conferring, the council commands the apostles not to speak of Jesus any more. Peter counters that he must listen to God rather than them, and cannot stop witnessing for Jesus.
The devil, concerned about people entering the Kingdom of God, was using the Jewish leaders to try and stop it.
Any time that God rises to do a work, the enemy rises to oppose it. Even in our lives.
So when God is doing something in our lives, and the devil tries to put obstacles on our path, we must be like Peter and keep pushing forward with God’s help.
If you keep going, you will be successful, because God is for you.
By the power of God the lame man was made whole. By the power of Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, He can make you whole as well.
By spending time with Jesus you will become a powerful witness for Jesus.
Trust in Jesus’ power, trust in His name, and spend time with Him.
